Program Contacts FAQs More Student Resources Activities Calendar Admissions Course Catalog Job Placement		Career Day College of Marin — Indian Valley Campus The Auto Technology and Auto Collision Repair Technology Department hosted Marin area high school students, teachers, administrators, and School to Career representatives this spring at an open house career day. Over 160 students attended from Novato, San Marin, San Rafael, Terra Linda, Tam and Sonoma county high schools, as instructors Ron Palmer and George Hritz explained the day's activities. Valuable career preparation information was given to prospective students from a business/industry panel that included Snap On Tools, Toyota, and PG&E. Representatives from the College of Marin and the Marin Education Fund presented counseling, financial aid, and scholarship strategies for students wanting to attend the College and enroll in the Auto programs.
		After registration and a morning snack, students rotated through interactive activities in engine repair, auto collision repair, frame straightening, paint mixing and talking to a technician. Prizes were raffled throughout the event, including a Palm Pilot and a prize for the fastest valve cover in the Annual Valve Cover Races. Sixteen valve cover racers competed in the categories of Ugly Ducking, Best Looking, Most Humorous, College, Open, and Overall. Pizza—five different varieties—was enjoyed with ice cold drinks on this unusually warm, summer-like day in March on the Indian Valley campus.
