Trouble-Shooting Tips for Blackboard Course

certain your browser is updated. Go to http://webct.marin.edu/webct/entryPageIns.dowebct
and click on browser check at the top of the screen.
Try a different browser.
Log out, then log back in and try again. If this fails, try shutting down your computer and restarting; then, login again to see if the problem is resolved.

If you are
having difficulty logging in from the MyCoM Portal, try logging in directly at: http://webct.marin.edu/webct/logonDisplay.dowebctMake certain that you are following the correct login instructions:
Enter your User Name.
Your user name will be in lowercase, no spaces, made up of the following:
First letter of first name followed by full last name.
Example: Maria Smith = msmith
Enter you password.
Your initial password is created from your date of birth
Example: dd/mm/yy 07/28/56
Please note - If you usually log in from the MyCoM Poratal and this is the first time you have tried to log on directly, please try the birthdate password first. If that does not work, then try your MyCoM password. If you still have problems, please send an email to web.ct@marin.edu
Disable or remove your Google Toolbar.
Disable your Security Suite extras (i.e
Norton
Secity, Trend Micro Security, etc.) but keep your anti-virus software
running.
Firewalls may be blocking the class
site.
Disable your popup blocker. Your online
course uses popups.
Disable the phishing filter in IE 7
Try
a different computer to determine if the problem is with your local
computer or with your account.
