TRANSFER ADMISSION GUARANTEE (TAG)

What is Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)?

The Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program offers guaranteed admission to students who complete a core set of courses at College of Marin, a full term prior to transferring to one of the following participating California Universities:

UC Davis                           UC Santa Barbara

UC Irvine                          UC Santa Cruz

UC Merced                        UC San Diego

UC Riverside

With TAG, you receive early notification of admission, and opportunities for individualized advising about major preparation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Complete at least 30 semester (45 quarter) UC-transferable units at College of Marin
  •  The minimum overall grade point average (GPA) for transferable work required for TAG varies by college.  Have at least a minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher on transferable work
  • Will be applying for junior status (60 UC-transferable semester units or 90 UC-transferable quarter units by the end of Spring 2012 for admission)
  • In good academic standing at College of Marin

How do I arrange for TAG?  If you’re taking the transfer route and would like to apply for TAG, make an appointment with a Counselor at 415-485-9632 to be sure you meet all requirements before a TAG is written.

When is TAG written?

  • A Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) may be prepared and signed up to one year before a student enrolls at a University for which TAG is written and must have completed at least 30 semester or 45 quarter transferable units.
  • An agreement must be completed and received at the university before the TAG contract limits are reached.

How do I apply for TAG?

If you are interested in applying for TAG, please make an appointment with a Counselor at 415-485-9432 (Student Services Room 212).   A Counselor will evaluate your transcripts to make sure you meet all requirements before a TAG is written.

What happens after a TAG is approved?

Ones your TAG is written and submitted to the University of your choice, an admissions representative from the university will contact you with further information.
