Pathways to Successful Transfer

The College of Marin Transfer and Career Center helps you prepare for success when you transfer. The center's many resources are available to support your transfer plans and to help ease the student transition from community college to four-year college or university. You don't have to do it alone--we are here to help you with up-to-date and accurate information, including an extensive library of catalogs, view books, application materials and other valuable information to get you started. The center also provides web/software applications and a variety of multimedia resources to inform you; additionally, a series of workshops, scheduled university representative campus visits and individual assistance are available by drop in or appointment.

To follow a successful transfer pathway, remember to:

Complete the new student orientation in person or on-line at Orientation
Learn how you learn, so you can succeed in classes
Make regular appointments with a counselor to stay on track to transfer
Remember to make getting math and English requirements completed early
Take advantage of free campus tutoring to improve your grades
Work with your counselor, to create an educational plan
Begin a list of four-year schools that interest you and research these
Meet with visiting college and university representatives on campus
Take time to visit four-year schools you are considering as possibilities
Learn how to complete the application process and deadlines

College of Marin is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. College of Marin serves approximately 9000 credit and noncredit students each spring and fall semester.
