STUDENT SUCCESS ORIENTATION FOR NEW STUDENTS

ENGLISH ORIENTATION and PLACEMENT TESTING

Steps to Success

1. Fill out the Admission Application

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must complete the application process in order to receive your Student ID number, which is needed to register for Placement Testing.

2. Schedule and Complete Math and English Placement Testing
The testing schedule is posted on the Testing Center door, SS 238, or here. Sample test questions can be found at Accuplacer. You may also call the Testing Office at 415.485.9469.

3. Complete a New Student Orientation (see below)

4. Schedule a Meeting with a Counselor
Call 415.485.9432 or go to KTD, Counseling Services, SS 211 or 210.

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATIONS

Online Orientation
You can take the online orientation through the MyCOM portal. Login to MyCOM, click on the Student tab. The orientation is on the right side of the screen under Student Petitions.

In-Person Orientation
You can attend an in-person orientation. To sign up for any of the following in-person orientations, please call 415-485-9432.

  • Tuesday, August 12, 2014, 2:30 - 4:00 p.m., Austin Center 101
  • Saturday, August 16, 2014, 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., Austin Center 101

ESL (ENGLISH as a SECOND LANGUAGE) ORIENTATIONS and NON-CREDIT ESL PLACEMENT TESTING
