THE INDIVIDUALIZED MATHEMATICS PROGRAM

These courses are individualized and self-paced. Repeat testing is used. Attendance is very important. Failure to meet required hours will affect a student’s grade. Instructors and tutors are available to help students. All of the courses are open-entry and open-exit classes. All classes are in the Math Lab in the Austin Science Building, Room SC 115.

STUDENTS WHO PRE-REGISTER FOR A COURSE IN THIS PROGRAM MUST CHECK IN WITH AN INSTRUCTOR OR INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF THE SEMESTER TO AVOID BEING DROPPED.

SELF-PACED COURSES:

The MATH 95A, B sequence is equivalent to Math 95
The MATH 101X, Y sequence is equivalent to MATH 101;
The MATH 103X, Y sequence is equivalent to MATH 103; and
The MATH 104X, Y sequence is equivalent to MATH 104.

Each unit of the MATH 95A, B, G sequence requires an average of four hours weekly in the Math Lab for eight weeks or until the course is completed. MATH 101X, 101Y, 103X, and 103Y each require an average of six hours weekly in the Math Lab for eight weeks or until the sequence is completed. MATH 104X and 104Y each require an average of four hours weekly in the Math Lab for eight weeks or until the sequence is completed.

For example, if the student plans to enroll and earn three units of MATH 101X,Y by the end of the semester, then the student must attend an average of six hours per week until the course work is completed. For MATH 103X,Y it is also an average of six hours per week. A student may add one or more units any time prior to the last three weeks of the semester.

Class hours required may be selected from any combination of the supervised times listed on the time chart.
