Use of modern colloquial Spanish in conversation with elementary grammar.
Designed for students who wish to acquire skills of the spoken language
with a minimum of formal grammar. Oral practice in speaking and
understanding Spanish through the use of videos, audiocassettes, and other
audiovisual packages related to class work. Use of audio materials
depicting everyday situations for improving fluency and accuracy in

This is a Spanish conversation course tailored to the needs of all
healthcare professionals and workers who wish to learn Spanish with the
goal of applying it in their working environment. No prior knowledge of
Spanish is needed. Each lesson is accompanied by a set of listening
exercises. This course fulfills continuing education requirements for

Advanced Spanish Conversation and Culture through Films
Prerequisite: SPAN 204
Students will learn about socio-cultural and political changes in Spanish-
speaking countries in modern times through one of the most expressive
artistic means of the twentieth century, films. After introduction to the
historic period, director and the vocabulary, students will view the films
and discuss them in Spanish. Additional essays and critiques will be
