Directed study courses are offered at the KTD campus. HUM 109A 4.0 units History of Film: Beginning to 1950 This course offers a chronological survey of narrative film as art, business, technology, and politics from the beginning of the movies in the 1890s to post World War II. Classroom screenings of representative films. Taught concurrently with COMM 109A. Students may register for HUM 109A or COMM 109A and receive credit for only one course Transfer Credit: CSU/UC 2093 Crosby F M 6:40-10:30pm, KTD/FA72 HUM 109B 4.0 units History of Film: 1950 to Present This course offers a chronological survey of narrative film as art, business, technology, and politics from post World War II to the present. Transfer Credit: CSU/UC 2094 Crosby F B T 1:40-5:30pm, KTD/FA72 HUM 118 3.0 units Intro to World Religions Prerequisite: ELIGIBLE ENGL 120 This course is an introduction to the major religious traditions of the world, and primal or preliterate religions. Along with principles, practice and history, the course will present examples of the art, music, and literature of the world's religions. Transfer Credit: CSU/UC 2095 Marmysz J L W 1:10-4pm, KTD/HC170 Students may receive credit for HUM 114 or 118 but not both. HUM 242 3.0 units Global Writings Prerequisite: ENGL 120 The survey of twentieth century writings in a variety of forms from cultures throughout the world will focus on such issues as colonial domination, liberation, the operation of political power, racism and inequality, conflict, and globalization in representative texts. Transfer Credit: CSU/UC 2472 Mackintosh J N TTh 11:10-12:30pm, KTD/HC172 Note: Section no. changed from 2095 to 2472 May be taken for credit as HUM 242 or ENGL 242.
