Directed study courses are offered at the KTD campus. GEOG 101 3.0 units Physical Environment A survey of the matter, processes, and interrelationships which develop the land, air, water, and natural vegetation patterns of the earth. Transfer Credit: CSU/UC 2049 Foss D N Th 11:10-2pm, KTD/SC159 2050 Peri A R MW 11:10-12:30pm, KTD/SC159 GEOG 101L 1.0 unit Physical Environment Lab Prerequisite: GEOG 101 OR CNCR ENR The geographic grid, atlases, topographic maps, rocks, and tectonic activity; weather and climate; natural vegetation, and soils are studied. Meets at various locations in Marin County. Students must provide their own transportation. Transfer Credit: CSU/UC 2051 Foss D H Th 2:40-5:30pm, KTD/SC166 GEOG 112 3.0 units Meteorology and Climatology Study of atmospheric sciences and consequences as man and nature continue to alter the atmosphere and climate. Transfer Credit: CSU/UC 2052 Foss D Th 6:40-9:30pm, KTD/SC159 GEOG 125 1.5 units Intro to Geographic Information Systems Prerequisite: CIS/COMP 110 ADVISED This course is an interdisciplinary introduction to Geographic Information Systems and provides instruction and training in the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software that supports acquisition, storage, integration, and analysis of geographic data. The course introduces the student to GIS, the use of ArcGIS software and prepares the student for applying ArcGIS in a successive course that involves the completion of a project related to their disciplinary interest. Transfer Credit: CSU/UC 2053 1/23-3/17 Salcedo N MW 6:10-8:30pm, KTD/SC144 GEOG 126 1.5 units Application of Geographic Information Systems in Research Prerequisite: GEOG 125 A project-based continuation of Geography 125 (Introduction to Geographic Information Systems), this course concentrates on project planning, acquisition of data, map development and analysis of the results using ArcGIS software.
