COURT REPORTING

Arrangement must be made for the rental or purchase of a shorthand machine at the student's expense prior to the first class meeting. Acquisition of a machine will be discussed at the orientation meeting listed below. Directed study courses are offered at the IVC campus. Students should be prepared to purchase materials necessary for the course. Apply appropriate style and format to computer-generated transcripts from stenotype notes. Develop and refine personal stenotype-to-English translation dictionary in order to improve translation percentage.
