Child and Adolescent Development CAD
Start your San Francisco State University B.A. at College of Marin, IVC Novato
SF State University offers courses in the Child & Adolescent Development (CAD) major on the College Of Marin/Indian Valley (Novato) campus. To sample the major before transferring to SFSU, eligible Community College students may register for up to two courses (lifetime) through Pathways.

FEE: $75 per course through Pathways Program
SFSU students register through regular procedures and pay standard fees.

CAD 300 - Professional Roles & Careers in Child & Adolescent Development
Required core course in the CAD major.

Course Description: Overview of child and adolescent development and careers related to children, youth, and families
Prerequisites: ECE 110 & ECE 112; or consent of instructor

Dates: January 26 – May 18, 2011
Day and time: Wednesdays, 7 p.m. – 9:50 p.m.

Location: College of Marin, Indian Valley Campus, Ohlone Building 19, room 154

PSY 435 - Behavior Problems of Children
TRequired core course in the CAD major.

Course Description: Children's behavior disorders, child guidance facilities, and clinical methods used in the study and treatment of children with problems.
Prerequisite: ECE 110; or consent of instructor

Dates: January 27 - May 19, 2011
Day and time: Thursdays, 7 p.m. – 9:50 p.m.

Location: College of Marin, Indian Valley Campus, Ohlone Building 19, room 154

*Eligibility for Pathways registration is determined by student status and the number of courses taken through Pathways. Only students who are not yet admitted to SFSU may register through Pathways, and students are limited to a lifetime maximum of two Pathways courses. After taking two Pathways courses, students should apply for admission to SFSU (when they meet the admission requirements) and may continue taking CAD courses on the COM/IVC campus, but paying regular SFSU student fees. Those who have taken two Pathways courses but are not yet ready to transfer may continue taking CAD courses at COM/IVC through the SFSU Open University, paying Open University fees of $832.50 per course.
