Student Access and Success Committee Established

A new participatory governance committee, the Student Access and Success Committee, was approved at the March 6 College Council meeting. The committee combines responsibilities from the Student Services Planning Committee and Equity and Diversity Committee into one. The change was recommended by the Institutional Planning Committee and Governance Review Council to provide a more effective process to review plans, institutional data and trends, and make recommendations to address student access and success. The committee reports to the Institutional Planning Committee.

Members of the Student Services Planning Committee were re-appointed to the Student Access and Success Committee by their constituent bodies. The committee held its first meeting March 12, 2008 and will be meeting weekly to meet program review deadlines. Joetta Tennison-Scott was elected Chair.

A description of the committee’s charge and responsibilities can be found at the Participatory Governance page on the College of Marin website. Meeting times are posted on the online “Faculty and Staff” calendar.
