Note from the Program Coordinator

DSPS Program coordinator Marie McCarthy Now that you have had the opportunity to "meet" some of our new staff, let me elaborate some more on how the Disabled Students Program continues to expand.

Since we currently serve between 1500 to 2000 students per year, we have increased our staff proportionately. At peak times we have up to 100 individuals in our employ, in a variety of capacities, from full time to hourly.

Our goal is to provide our students with the very best support services and special classes, to address functional limitations caused by disability and to enhance independence and academic success as much as possible.

The key ingredient to all of the above is hiring "super" staff, and I think from what you read in this issue of our newsletter, we are doing just that!

Enjoy! -- Marie McCarthy
