Medi-Cal Threatens Cuts in Equipment Payments

The California Department of Health Services has proposed cuts in funding for wheelchairs, oxygen, prosthetics, mattresses, grab bars, toilet rails and other essential equipment.

  The final decision on "R-3-99E" has been temporarily postponed because of some complaints, but it is important for all Medi-Cal users to let government officials know how crucial this equipment is to their health and well-being.

  Complaints may be faxed to (916) 657-1459, or emailed to regulations@dhs.ca.gov. Refer to R-3-99E and state specifically what equipment you use and what the effects would be if the supply of such equipment were cut off.
