Afternoon Classes at Whistlestop

930 Tamalpais Ave., San Rafael, CA

• Whistlestop is next to the big main bus station in San Rafael. It is across the street, between 3rd and 4th Streets. It is a big yellow building. There are three ESL classes at Whistlestop. One is Level 10 (Beginning), one is Level 20 (high beginning and the last is Level 30 (low Intermediate). The classes meet Monday and Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon. You can register after a placement test or when you come to class.  Whistlestop is a very friendly place where people make good friends. It is especially for Seniors (60+ years old), but everybody is welcome and wellreceived there.
  
• On Mondays, right after the ESL classes, at 3:30, you can prepare for the Citizenship Interview. This class is free and addresses the English and U.S. history and government requirements for citizenship. It is an ongoing class and no registration is needed. Just come. For more information call Ross at 456-9062 ext 133 or 454-0998. This is a wonderful class to help you get your U.S. citizenship!
  
• There are other activities at Whistlestop, such as exercise classes and health care presentations. You can also eat lunch at Whistlestop before the ESL class. Seniors ( 60 years and older) pay $3.50. Other people pay more, but you can choose from salad or soups or pizza or the main entrée.

• Whistlestop se encuentra junto a la terminal de camiones de san Rafael. Se encuentra cruzando la calle entre las calles 3rd y 4th. Es un edificio grande de color amarillo. Se ofrecen dos clases de inglés como segundo idioma. Uno es de nivel 10 (principiante), nivel 20
  y nivel 30 (intermedio). Las clases son los lunes y los miercoles de 2:00 a 4:00 de la tarde. Puede inscripirse cuando se presente a clase. Whistlestop es un lugar amigable, donde las personas se hacen de buenas amistades. Generalmente es para

• Tambien se ofrecen otros servicios en Whistlestop como, clases de ejercio y cuidado de la salud. Tambien puede comer en Whistlestop antes de la clase de inglés como segundo idioma. Las personas de la tercera edad (+60 años) comen por $3.50. Otras personas tienen que pagar más, pero podrán escoger entre ensalada, sopa pizza y un platillo fuerte.

Evening Classes at the Conservation Corps North Bay

• Students can take College of Marin ESL classes at the Conservation Corps North Bay in the Canal area of
  San Rafael. Also, there is a computer lab where you can practice your English, work on Keyboarding
  skills or study for the GED. Sometimes an ESL class for gardeners and landscapers is offered.
• 
  Located on the corner of Larkspur St. and Kerner Blvd. students can enter through a gate in the front
  parking lot to get to the classroom building in the back, or by walking down a driveway to the right of
  the front parking lot to the back entrance. Register at the College of Marin ESL Office in Kentfield.

Lab hours:
Mondays and Tuesdays: 10am to 2 pm and 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Classes:
Level 10: Tuesdays and Thursdays: 6:30 to 8:30 pm
Level 20/30: Mondays and Wednesdays: 6:30 to 8:30 pm

• Los estudiantes pueden tomar clases de inglés como segundo idioma del College of Marin, en el Conservation Corps North Bay que se encuentra en canal en San Rafael. Tambien hay un laboratorio de computo donde podrás practicar tu inglés, practicar su mecanografía o estudiar para el GED (equivalencia de studios generales). Afternoon Classes in Novato

Margaret Todd Senior Center

(1560 Hill Road, Novato, CA)
The Margaret Todd Senior Center is a center for senior citizens, but everyone is welcome! The class meets from 2:30 to 4:30 on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.  You can register when you come to class. There is one ESL class for beginning students (ESL levels 10 and 20), but many students are more advanced because they continue from one year to the next. There is a warm family-like atmosphere where everyone can ask questions, participate, and get help from the teacher and other students. There is a LOT of talking, a LOT of laughing, and a LOT of singing. Margaret Todd Senior Center is in Novato at 1560 Hill Road. It is near the center of Novato. You need to walk 4 to 6 blocks from the bus stop on Novato Blvd. to the Margaret Todd Center on Hill Road, but it is an easy walk. Many students come by car and some walk or ride bicycles.

El Margaret Todd Senior Center es un centro para ciuidanos de la tercera edad, ¡sin embargo todos son bienvenidos! La clase se reune los martes, miercoles y jueves de 2:30pm a 4:30 pm. Usted puede registrarse cuando vaya a clases por primera vez. Hay una clase de Inglés como segundo idioma para principiantes (niveles 10 y 20), pero muchos de los estudiantes son un poco mas avanzados porque continuan asisitiendo a clases año tras año. Hay una atmosfera calida, donde todos podrán hacer preguntas, participar y recibir ayuda de su profesor y compañeros de clase. Se conversa MUCHO, se rie MUCHO y tambien se canta MUCHO. Margaret Todd Senior Center se encuentra en Novato en 1156 Hill Road. Se encuentra cerca de el centro de Novato. Necesita caminar de 4 a 6 cuadras de la parada de camión sobre Novato Blvd. para llegar al Margaret Todd Senior Center. Muchos estudiantes vienen manejando, otros vienen a pie o en bicicleta.
