Annotation Study Strategy

Do you struggle to understand what you are reading?

1)  Writing brief summaries in the text margins using your own words

2) Enumerating multiple ideas (causes, effects, characteristics, etc.)

3) Noting examples of concepts in the margins (EX.)

4) Putting key information on graphs and charts in the text margins--when appropriate

5) Jotting down possible test questions in the text margins in anticipation of further study

6) Noting puzzling or confusing ideas with a question mark in the text margins (?)

7) Selectively underlining key words or phrases
