The A.A. prepares students for transfer into a four-year dance major or performing arts program. It serves as basic preparation for professional performances and/or teaching careers, as well as being a springboard into further study of other dance-related areas.
The following requirements are the minimum. The student is advised to take as many technuque courses as possible in order to develop the highest skill level in any of the styles. Nine technique courses are required for the major, distributed as follows (minimum 14 units):

As an A.A. Student, you will complete the requirements as listed.
In addition, you will be required to meet with a dance faculty counselor at the beginning of each semester to focus your study plan for the semester, and once at the end of the semester to assess your progress and re-focus.
A complete A.A. information packet is on file in both offices at the Dance center, and in the college counseling department in the Student Services Building.
There are also brochures, catalogues etc. from university dance departments, dance companies etc, in the dance offices (ask a dance counselor).
