Application Requirements

If you are a student who...

... HAS OR WILL PARTICIPATE IN INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS:

  1. Have you completed the NCAA CLEARINGHOUSE FORMS?
  2. Have you sent your official High School Transcripts / College Transcript to College of Marin?
  3. Have you filled out the FAFSA - FINANCIAL AID forms for the academic year ( www.fafsa.ed.gov )?
  4. Have you made an appointment to see the Academic Counselor Bruce Furuya at 415. 485. 9309?
  5. Have you contacted the Head Coach of your sport?

... has NEVER ATTENDED A 2 OR 4 YEAR COLLEGE:

  1. Fill out Application for Admission.
  2. Have official High School and College Transcripts sent to College of Marin.
  3. Fill out TRACER FORM TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY STATUS.
  4. You must complete 24.0 units before your second season of sport. Your GPA must be 2.0 or higher.
  5. You must complete 12.0 units in residence at College of Marin prior to your second season of sport. This rule is only for those students who transfer from a California Community College to another California Community College.
  6. You can only count 8.0 units of Summer School toward the 12.0 unit residency requirement. (You may take more if school allows - but only 8.0 units will count towards the 12.0 residency units.)
  7. IF YOU ARE TRANSFERING TO ANOTHER CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO PLAY A NEW SPORT THAT YOU DID NOT PLAY AT THE ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE (e.g. Vollyball instead of Women's Basketball), YOU ARE STILL REQUIRED TO COMPLETE 12.0 UNITS IN RESIDENCY AT THE NEW SCHOOL WITH A 2.0 GPA (or higher).

... has transferred FROM A 4 YEAR COLLEGE (4-2-4) STATUS:

  1. Fill out Application for Admission.
  2. Have official High School and College Transcripts sent to COM.
  3. Fill out TRACER FORM TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY STATUS.
  4. You must complete 24.0 units before your second season of sport. Your GPA must be 2.0 or higher.
  5. YOU MUST EARN AN AA DEGREE TO TRANSFER TO A NEW 4 YEAR COLLEGE.
