Rossana Pagani came to California from Uruguay in 1982 and became a student at College of Marin. She later graduated from San Francisco State University with a Master’s degree in Spanish Language & Literature, and a second Master’s degree in Italian Language & Literature. She attended UC Berkeley where she completed all course work (except a dissertation) for a Ph.D. in Romance Languages.
Her dream has always been to return to College of Marin and teach to offer students the same opportunities she had to develop a greater sense of appreciation for language.
Rossana taught Spanish and Italian at various Colleges and Universities in the San Francisco Bay area including UC Berkeley, Dominican University and San Francisco State University.
At College of Marin, Rossana enjoys teaching advanced courses and culture & civilization courses in Spanish, as well as Italian courses. She is committed to pass on the cultures and traditions of the Spanish and Italian languages, and to have her students share in her passion.
“My classes are challenging, but fun, and I like to develop a comfortable and friendly atmosphere in my classes. My philosophy of teaching gears toward success – to give students continued opportunities to reach their highest potentials. In my free time, I enjoy traveling to South America and Europe, swimming, Salsa dancing and walking my dogs.”
