Peggy Koorhan, BA Spanish Language and Literature, is passionate about Spanish! Just ask her students! Peggy has been teaching for 27 years. She started her career as a bilingual elementary school teacher. She has taught high school Spanish for 15 years and Spanish at the community college level for 5 years. Her credits include Inglewood Unified Teacher of the year and Terra Linda Rotary Teacher of the Year. She has participated in Spanish Language & Literature workshops at UCLA, Stanford, UC Berkeley and the Universidad San Francisco in Quito, Ecuador.
Peggy spent several years in Mexico attending the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores in Guaymas, Sonora as well as the Universidad Ibero Americana in Mexico City. She has traveled extensively in Latin America and brings her knowledge of the Spanish Language and culture into the classroom. In her spare time she enjoys Salsa dancing, traveling and being co-advisor of the Nicaragua Service Club at Terra Linda High School. She has taken students to Nicaragua for the past 3 years to do volunteer work.
