Chinese
Some very good reasons to study Chinese:
- China is one of the world’s oldest and richest continuous cultures, over 5000 years old.
- One in every five people in the world speaks Chinese, making it the most widely spoken first language in the world.
- China is the second largest economy in the world and one of the United States’ largest trading partners. Many U.S. companies do business in China.
At College of Marin we offer both Elementary Chinese and Conversational Mandarin. Join us and open the doors to different important fields such as Chinese politics, economy, or history.

Policy Statement Regarding Sequence of Enrollment in Modern Language Classes: Although students are advised to enroll in language courses sequentially, they will not be precluded from enrolling in lower level language classes after completion of more advanced courses. Students should be aware, however, that units resulting from the lower level courses may not be accepted at transfer institutions as a part of the required transferring units.
