Program Prerequisites
The prerequisites listed below must be completed PRIOR to admission
and all prerequisites and course work required for licensure must
be met with a letter grade of "C" or higher. The admission
requirements are currently under review. Contact the Nursing Department
at 415. 485. 9319 for current information.

1. NE 90, Introduction to Nursing Education and Practice.
2. * CHEMISTRY: Chem 110
3. * ANATOMY: Biology 120
4. * PHYSIOLOGY: Biology 224
5. MATH: Completion of Math 101 or 101AB or 101XY
6. ENGLISH: English 120 or 150 - English classes must be taken for a letter grade
7. MICROBIOLOGY: Biology 240

Courses Required for RN Licensure (Corequisites)
1. SPEECH: 110, 120 or 128
2. PSYCHOLOGY: 110 and 112, or 114
3. 3 units from ANTHROPOLOGY 102, 103, 208, or SOCIOLOGY 110,

Students are strongly encouraged to take these courses
prior to entering the program. Clinical rotations are on days and
evenings leaving little time to enroll in required co-requisite
courses.

Open Enrollment
It is the policy of this College that, unless specifically exempted
by statute, every, course section or class, the average daily attendance
of which is to be reported for state aid, wherever offered and maintained
by the College, shall be fully open to enrollment and participation
by any person who has been admitted to the College and who meets
such prerequisites as may be established pursuant to Chapter II,
Division 2, part VI, Title 5 of the California Administrative Code,
commencing with Section 51820. REGISTERED NURSING PROGRAM
Students who believe they have met the prerequisite through coursework
at other institutions or equivalent experience have a right to challenge
the prerequisite. Contact the Nursing Department for registered
nursing challenge information.
Courses required for the RN program may have their own prerequisites.
