MARIN CHAPTER
CALIFORNIA NATIVE PLANT SOCIETY

Dedicated To The Preservation Of California Native Flora

The flower part you selected is:

The anther

The stamen is the male reproductive structure of the flower. The anther is the terminal part of the stamen and produces the pollen which is responsible for fertilizing the female part of a flower. The anther is connected to the rest of the flower by a stalk called a filament. Together the anther and the filament comprise the stamen.

The other flower parts you can select are: petals, sepals, ovary, stigma, and bud.
