General Admissions Information

The College of Marin serves students of all ages.

Anyone 18 years of age or older, with or without a high school diploma, is eligible to enroll at College of Marin. For information concerning enrollment of students under age 18, call the Office of Admissions and Records (415 457-8811, ext. 8822) or the Counseling Department (415 485-9431).

High School Students - College Credit Program

The College offers a special program which allows students in high school to take college courses in advanced scholastic and vocational programs before before receiving their high school diploma. Concurrenty enrolled students are restricted from credit physical education classes and remedial classes numbered below 100. Each semester the student must register in person and bring in a College Credit Program (CCP) Card signed by a parent, high school counselor, and College counselor.

Residence Requirements for Admission

In general, to be considered a resident for tuition purposes, a student must have lived continuously in California for one year immediately preceding the residence determination date. The student must also provide documentation (as defined by the California Education Code) proving the student's intention to make California the student's permanent home. The residency determination date is the day before the semester begins.

International Admission

International Students seeking admission to the credit program must provide the following:

  • Evidence of completion of a high school education, or equivalent
  • Transcripts of all U.S. colleges and universities attended
  • A score of 500, or 173 on the computer-based Test of English as a Foreign Lanugage (TOEFL) is required.
  • Documentation verifying adequate financial support for housing, food, tuition, and medical care
  • Completed Foreign Student Application

International Students are subject to the following fees

Nonresident tuition $ 188.00 per unit
Enrollment fee $ 20.00 per unit
Application fee $ 50.00
Health fee $ 15.00
Optional student representation fee $ 3.00

Fees must be paid at the time of registration. Credit International Students are required to maintain enrollment in at least 12 units.
