Annan Paterson Appointed to the College of Marin Board
Kentfield, CA—Dec. 20, 2007— At a special meeting of the College of Marin Board of Trustees on Wednesday, December 19, Annan Paterson of Novato was named the provisional appointee to the Board. Paterson replaces longtime Trustee Greg Brockbank, who resigned from the College of Marin Board to serve on the San Rafael City Council.
Thirteen candidates applied for the open board seat. One candidate withdrew before the interviews. Following a preliminary vote, which reduced the field of candidates from 12 to two finalists, the six-member board voted 4-2 in favor of Paterson. Paterson was sworn in by College of Marin Superintendent/President Frances L. White, Ph.D.
Paterson is a school psychologist with the Novato Unified School District. She received her Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley and her Masters degree from Hayward State University (now CSU East Bay).
Unless a petition calling for a special election containing a sufficient number of signatures is filed in the office of the county superintendent of schools within thirty (30) days of the provisional appointment, the appointment shall become an effective appointment. (Education Code 5092)
