Auditions for Big River

Kentfield, CA— December 18, 2012—The College of Marin Drama Department will hold auditions for their spring semester musical, Big River, on Saturday, January 12, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Performing Arts Theatre, Kentfield Campus.
As American as apple pie, this fabulous show has never been done in Marin County and promises not to disappoint. Directed by James Dunn, with musical direction by Paul Smith and choreography by Sandra Tanner, this show is everyone’s favorite bad boy adventure story. Those auditioning should prepare a one minute monologue of choice and one song in the blue-grass/country music genre. Bring your own sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided. Those auditioning will also be asked to perform a simple dance routine. Callbacks will be Saturday, January 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Performing Arts Theatre.
There are 14 wonderful principle roles and a variety of smaller roles, many of which will be double or triple cast. This is a non-AEA production and there is no pay. No advance appointment is necessary. Class registration is required. Rehearsals begin on January 22, 2013. Performances will be held in the Performing Arts Theatre February 28, March 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17.
