News Contact: College of Marin Organic Farm and Garden Plant Sale
Novato, CA—October 5, 2010—College of Marin’s Indian Valley Campus (IVC) Organic Farm and Garden will host a plant sale and open farm celebration on Saturday, October 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at IVC, 1800 Ignacio Blvd, Novato, CA. The event is open to the public and is free of charge. There will be live music performed by the local band Wagon and a variety of family activities, including heirloom tomato tasting, harvest bouquet making, and farm tours. Plants for sale include broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, lettuce, parsley, herbs, perennial flowers, and more. A variety of organic farm fresh produce also will be on sale, including sweet pie pumpkins, lettuce, kale, chard, winter squash, tomatoes, and corn. All proceeds from the sale will support the operation of the organic farm and garden. Co-sponsors include the Conservation Corps North Bay, University of California Cooperative Extension, and College of Marin.
