COM Holds a Remembrance Ceremony Commemorating 10th Anniversary of Terrorist Attacks
Kentfield, CA — September 12, 2011 — College of Marin hosted Remembrance Ceremonies at both its Kentfield and Indian Valley campuses to mark the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States, which occurred on Sept. 11, 2001.
The American flag was flown at half-staff at both campuses on Sept. 11 and raised this morning following a brief presentation by Dr. Coon at the Kentfield Campus and also a brief presentation by Dean Nanda Schorske at IVC. After the presentations there was a moment of silence in remembrance of the victims of the September 11, 2001 attack. In addition to students, faculty, staff, and community members, the College of Marin Police Department was joined by members of the Farfax and Ross Police Departments to raise the flag to full staff.
