Contemporary Opera Marin & Three Chamber Concerts
The College of Marin Music Department presents three chamber concerts and a chamber opera in the College of Marin Fine Arts Gallery, Performing Arts Building on the Kentfield campus. All performances are FREE admission with FREE parking.
Maria of Buenos Aires, A Tango Opera in One Act
Contemporary Opera Marin, the opera program of the College of Marin, Paul Smith, director, presents Astor Piazzolla's fascinating tango opera, Maria of Buenos Aires. This 70 minute work combines beautiful singing, mystical poetry, and of course, the tango, in a fully staged English language production directed by Sandi V. Weldon with music direction by Paul Smith.

The renowned London based piano duo returns to Marin for a rare performance of Igor Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring in its original version for piano four hands. The evening opens with transcriptions of JS Bach by the living Hungarian composer Gyorgy Kurtag.
