News Release Office of Outreach & School Relations March 7, 2007 We are planning our 11th Annual Latino College Awareness Day on Thursday, April 5, 2007, from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM where Marin Latino high school students will have an opportunity to visit our campus, student services and classrooms. They will also hear keynote speaker Mario Lopez, former College of Marin Student, and former COM Student Trustee. Mario is curently a senior majoring in Political Science at UC Davis and completed a 10 week internship with Diane Feinstein's office in Washington D.C. Latino College Awareness Day, provides an opportunity for Marin County Latino high school students to get a sense of what going to college is all about. For many students they are the first generation in their families to consider exploring higher education and attending college. College of Marin offers an astounding opportunity for excellence in education and an opening into fruitful careers in the future. We are delighted to offer the College of Marin experience to the Latino community as well as to all others looking for a springboard to higher education. |
