College of Marin Trustee Resigns From Board
KENTFIELD, CA—February 6, 2014—In a letter dated February 4, 2014, to Marin County Office of Education Superintendent Mary Jane Burke, College of Marin Trustee Dr. James Namnath announced that that he has recently relocated to the Sacramento area for work related purposes and therefore is resigning from the Board of Trustees effective immediately. Namnath was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2007 and served as board president in 2013.
“It has been a pleasure to serve the students of College of Marin. It is sad to leave Marin County but it is best for me and our planet that I have a short bicycle-able commute,” said Namnath. “I leave with knowledge that the students are in good stead with world class faculty and administration. I will always take pride in having contributed to a great institution.”
College of Marin Superintendent/President Dr. David Wain Coon, in his weekly briefing to faculty and staff, expressed appreciation for Trustee Namnath’s service to the College. “On behalf of our students, faculty, and staff I want to thank Dr. Namnath for his commitment to students and his contributions to the college and the community,” said Wain Coon.
