International Students Program at College of Marin For over 30 years the fully accredited College of Marin has been offering international students the opportunity to earn a college degree or prepare to transfer to a four-year college or university. Approximately 200 students from a wide variety of countries are currently enrolled at College of Marin. The completion rate of our Credit International Students Program is one of the highest of all California community colleges. (The Credit International Student Program requires a TOEFL of 500.) International students can also enroll in College of Marin’s noncredit Intensive English Program. (The noncredit Intensive Intensive English Program has no TOEFL requirement.) All international students enrolled at College of Marin receive free student services, including orientation, tutoring, specialized counseling with an individualized educational plan, assistance with preparing to transfer to a four year college or university, and answers to immigration questions.
Academic Excellence/Transfer College of Marin is renowned for its academic excellence. Graduate surveys cite the exceptional quality of our faculty. You will enjoy learning in primarily small classes of 30 students or less that are taught by outstanding and dedicated professors who are experts in their fields. COM offers more than 70 undergraduate majors and has transfer admission agreements (TAAs) with the University of California, Davis, University of California, Santa Cruz, University of California, Santa Barbara, University of California, Irvine and University of California, Riverside. In addition, COM students transfer to hundreds of other public and private colleges. International students who complete transfer requirements at College of Marin receive priority over other out-of-state residents when transferring to California State Universities and University of California campuses. Recent statistics show that students who complete two years at College of Marin are likely to earn the highest grade point averages of all California community college transferees at state universities.
Earn an associate degree and train for a career In addition to transfer, the college offers outstanding career and technical programs. The college enrolls many adult students as well as recent high school graduates in more than 1,100 day, evening and weekend classes. About the College College of Marin is one of 109 public community colleges in California accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Approximately 6,800 students enroll each fall and spring semester. Classes are also offered during the summer. College of Marin was founded in 1926 and is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Athletics College of Marin has a long standing tradition in intercollegiate athletics: track and field, cross country, swimming and diving, baseball, football, soccer, basketball and water polo.
