Session A (for non-F-1 students) January 24 - March 16, 2012

Session B (for non-F-1 students) March 20 - May 18, 2012

Register early as courses require 10-student minimum to prevent cancellation.

 

Spring 2012 – January 24 - May 18, 2012

There are three available sessions: A, B, C.

Session A: January 24 through March 16, 2012(First 8 weeks)
For students without F-1 Visas. Students who attend session A may also sign up for session B.
Testing and placement: January 24, 25, 26, 2012

Session B: March 20 through May 18, 2012 (Second 8 weeks)
For students without F-1 Visas. Session B is a continuation of session A, so students should be aware that session B does not start from the beginning as it does in session A.

Session C: January 24 through May 18, 2012 (16 weeks)
F-1 students are required to register for and attend 20 hours per week for 16 weeks for a total of 320 instructional hours to maintain their F-1 status.
Other students including au pairs on J-1 visas, Marin residents, professionals, and those needing to improve their English to gain employment may sign up for Session C.

Visa Categories

F-1 Visa Students
F-1 students are required to register for and attend 20 hours per week for 16 weeks for a total of 320 instructional hours to maintain their F-1 status. Attendance is taken in all courses.  F-1 students who do not have a verifiable excuse (medical, legal etc) run the risk of becoming out of status, and they may lose their I-20 status with the College of Marin Intensive English Program. The tuition for F-1 students is $2,500.

B-1 Visa Students
Students on B (tourist) visas are not allowed to sign up for Session C, but are welcome to attend either Session A or Session B for one time for up to 10 hours for a maximum total of 80 instructional hours.
