MMST 131A and 131B: Web Design I and II
Thank you for your interest in MMST131a & MMST131b - Web Design I & II. Access to the course will not be available until this first day of the term.
Access Requirements
No mandatory campus visits are required forthis course but students are required to log into the course web site as least once per week.
TextBooks
There are no required textbooks for this class. All the needed materials will be accessed through the course web site or supplemental, related web sites. However, many students find it helpful to purchase a supplemental books or other resources.
Course organization
The course is 16 weeks long and is organized into TOPICS, roughly one every two weeks. Plan on spending at least 7 hours per week on the course materials. You are required to log onto the course at least once a week. Mondays is best, but you can pick whichever days and times suit you.
First Day of Class Instructions
All enrolled students are required to login to the class Moodle website the first week of class, to hold their spot in the class. If a registered student does not login to the class site during this period, his or her spot will be given to a student on the waitlist. (The waitlist is always long for this class and there is a shortage of class spots to meet the demand; so you must log on the course this first week or lose your seat in the class.
Waitlist & Add Codes
If you are on the waitlist or attempting to add the course, email the instructor, James Gonzalez as soon as possible to indicate your desire to take the course and to receive course start up information. Please include your name, the section number of the class you wish to add, and your COM Student ID (if you have one) in your email. I do honor the official waitlist, adding students in the order they appear on the waitlist.
Students are added in the order they appear on the wait list, as spots open up. Because enrolled students have the first week to check in, most spots do not open up until week 2 of the course, so be patient. The first week of class is mostly occupied by housekeeping tasks, so you
