About me
Spring 2014 marks my 56th semester that I have taught among twelve California Community Colleges and two California State Universities. My experience teaching in the field of college English ranges from developmental levels to advanced critical thinking and composition. Among these courses I have also instructed etymology/vocabulary building, grammar, prose style, and literature courses with an emphasis on lyric poetry of the early 17th century as well as modern and contemporary poetry. I also teach composition courses around the themes of nature, mind, and environment.

When not grading papers, I enjoy the art of raw-vegan cuisine, playing drum set, and studying dead languages (Sanskrit, Ancient Greek, Biblical Hebrew)!

My Philosophy
Teaching college students that reading and writing engage them personally and intellectually with the courses they will
encounter, giving them a greater stake in their own education.
