Scholarship Information

AΓΣ Statewide Scholarship

Academic Award                      
      The Kathleen D. Loly Scholarship Award is an academic award, recognizing our most outstanding scholars.               
      -
You must have complete a minimum of 60 semester (or 90 quarter) units by the end of the Spring 2013 term with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75
      - You have been a member of AΓΣ at least one semester
      - You have been enrolled in community college classes for the entire 2012-2013 academic year   

Service Award                      
      The
Ed Walsh Outstanding Service Award is given to students who have given outstanding service to their chapters, campus and communities.               
     
- You must have completed a minimum of 30 semester (or 45 quarter) units by the end of the Spring 2013
      - You have been a member of AΓΣ at least one semester term
      - You have been enrolled in community college classes for the entire 2012-2013 academic year
      - Past recipients have averaged 300-400 hours of community service over the course of one year
      - They are looking for a combination of service to AGS (for example being a board member or assistant) as well as helping the broader community

COM Foundation Scholarship 

As of February 2013 The College of Marin Foundation is not currently offering scholarships to Alpha Gamma Sigma members. Please check back regularly as it may be reinstated.

Academic Achievement Award
     
- You must have competed at least 30 graded college units
      - You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above
      - You must be a current, active AΓΣ member for a minimum of one semester
      - You must type a 500 word essay on the topic:
        "What do the qualities of good character and knowledge mean to you? How have you exhibited them in your life?"

Service Award
     
- You must have completed at least 30, graded college units
      - You must have a 
minimum number of 65 service points
      - You must be a current, active AΓΣ member for a minimum of two semesters
      - You must type a 500 word essay on the topic:
       "How my service to the College of Marin or broader Marin County community has affected my life and the lives of those I have served."
